Resolutions

Instagram @caseyscollection

2012, to be honest, started horribly. After some events, I decided to focus on doing things to improve myself and my happiness. It's important. I really believe that you are not capable of fully loving others until you learn to love yourself. So after realizing this, I decided I needed a new change of pace. I started this blog in 2011 but I really didn't do anything with it, so in 2012 when I needed something new,  I buckled down and actually started posting. I know there are so so many bloggers now, but blogging really is something I do because I love it. It can be so helpful because I can inspire others and I have a place to write what inspires me. It's like a diary only not so private. Everything I post is of something that interests me whether it's fashion or travel or personal stories. Towards the middle of this past year, I felt so much better about every aspect of my life. I have had so many opportunities this year and I am so thankful for every little thing I am able to do. I have seen more of the world in the past couple of years than I ever could have imagined, I built amazing friendships that I will hopefully keep forever, I have a boyfriend that loves me through thick and thin, and I found a lot of things I truly enjoy doing and people I truly enjoy being with who are always there for me. Most importantly, my family, friends, and I are happy and healthy and that is more than I could ask for. Plus, we survived the apocalypse...and that's always something to be happy about.

Now for the last day of the year I'm sitting in my hotel room on Times Square with the love of my life. I probably should be out right now, but I need a little relaxing before we go out tonight...either way, I'm so happy and thankful to be in the most beautiful city to start off 2013. Usually people have one simple resolution for New Years but of course I have like 10...maybe...I don't know if I can even call them resolutions, more like promises,  but it needs to be written down so I can come back to it in a year from now and see if I actually kept them.

First of all, I want to religiously take care of my mind, my body, and my health all year. I also want to show my family and Marcus how much I appreciate them which is something I need to do more of. I want to show my friends that I will always be here for them no matter what. I want to rid myself of the people that hold me down. I want to continue to improve this blog and the content on it by taking risks and posting much more than I already do because I would love to share my blog with more of you. I want to do well in school and hopefully transfer to a different school in the fall. I want to earn more money so that I can {slowly} start saving to move out/financially support myself. And in the end, I want to keep searching for things that inspire me so I can in turn inspire others and I promise to share as much as I can along the way.

Happy New Years everyone, and I wish you all the best for the upcoming year!

xoxo

Happy New Year from NYC!

Coat & Boots: Topshop, Sweater: American Apparel, Blouse: Forever 21, Jeans: Rag & Bone

I'm trying to blog with the worst internet connection so bare with me people. This is what I wore yesterday here in NY. It's pretty cold here and I've been trying to bundle up as much as possible. Yesterday we shopped and made plans for New Years Eve. Today we went to Rockefeller Center and I went to the Top Of The Rock Observation Deck while Marcus stayed at the bottom...he doesn't like heights...we also visited the Modern Vice shoe factory thanks to Natalie from Natalie Off Duty. It was awesome! Oh and the macarons are from La Maison Du Chocolat...AMAZING.

Hopefully I can get back to more regular posting when I'm in Sweden.

I wish everyone a very happy and healthy New Year. All the best for 2013!

Eventful Day in NY

Here's some of the stuff I bought today! Marcus and I went to Soho to shop today. We went to TopShop, which is where I got the boots, then we went to Rag & Bone. While we were in Rag & Bone a car exploded outside and we thought it was a car bomb so everyone in the store went to the basement for protection. Then when we went back up the fire dept was there and the police told us to stay in the store until they knew what was going on. Turns out one of the manholes exploded, nonetheless me and Marcus were really effing scared. So so so happy we were safe. Shout out to the people in Rag & Bone for protecting us...ugh the things we go through to get a nice pair of jeans...

The internet connection in my hotel is horrible, so blogging might be difficult to keep up with. But if you want to follow me in NY check out my instagram @caseyscollection & follow my blog on BLOGLOVIN!

Getting super excited for my trip! I leave Friday for NYC, one of my favorite places in the world. Today I was wearing my amazing new Free People jeans and carrying around my new Marc Jacobs wallet! Santa spoiled me too much this year. Tomorrow I'll be packing and running around all day trying to get ready to leave. If you want to keep up with me and my trip follow me on Twitter @caseydiaz23 or Instagram @caseyscollection. Anyways, I'm off to bed for now. Goodnight everyone!

Little Black Dress

Dress c/o: Motel Rocks, Tights: Urban Outfitters (old), Heels: Steve Madden (old)

I was super excited when I got this dress in the mail last week! Of course there has been a ton of Christmas parties these past couple of weeks which means you need a surplus of dresses....You really can't go wrong with a LBD and the leather and studs make it really stand out.  Big thanks to Motel Rocks for this dress! Love it! Soo I'm headed to a Christmas party tonight, then my other brother's birthday is tomorrow, then finally Christmas Eve! This year went by way too fast...

Baby, It's Cold Outside

I made this set on Polyvore today and it's pretty similar to my last outfit post. I do have this coat from TopShop that I'm completely in love with. I've worn it every day since it came in the mail. Now if only I had the Acne booties and the Balenciaga clutch....the Rag & Bone jeans would be amazing too.  But I've been having a little too much fun on Polyvore lately so expect a lot of outfit ideas from me in the near future!

Just Another Fashion Magazine

A HUGE thank you to Lisa for featuring me in Just Another Fashion Magazine! If you haven't already, you all NEED to download the iPad friendly app HERE to get your fashion fix. I wish I had an iPad to keep track of it, but I do steal my dad's every once in awhile to keep tabs on this magazine. It's awesome! Make sure you all check it out!

Tartan Scarf

Coat: TopShop, Scarf: Zara, Jeans: Zara, Heels: Zara, Bag: Zara

Basically wearing all Zara again as usual. What can I say? They have everything. This coat from TopShop came in just in time for the wind and rain here in LA. I plan on bringing it on my trip also but I'm going to need a lot more layers than this. I'm only wearing a black t-shirt underneath it.  This tartan scarf will also come in handy on my vacation! When you open it up all the way it's more like a blanket...I mean it's HUGE. Tartan has been a big trend this winter. I might get some tartan pants as well, but I'll have to find the right ones.

It's my mom and brother's birthdays today! Tonight we're going out to dinner. Hopefully they like the presents Marcus & I got them :D
