Open For Business!

Hello Hello! Good news! My closet is now available for everyone! And because I'm just sooooooooo creative, it's called Casey's Closet.
Right now there's only shoes, and if you're a size 7.5/8 it's your lucky day. But there's a bunch of items from brands like Jeffrey Campbell, Zara, and Steve Madden. I hope you guys like it! There will be more to come soon! Don't hesitate to ask me any questions, also.

People always ask the obligatory question if you're associated with the fashion industry, "if you could describe your style in one word, what would it be?" And to be honest, I've never been able to pinpoint my style with just one sufficient, lonely word. So usually I say something cliché like "versatile" or "simple" and then I'm stuck wondering if I gave an answer that was sufficient or made me seem cool.
Then I snap back to the reality of me not being cool at all...
AND THEN I wonder: but what if somedays I don't want to be "simple" or "versatile"? What if somedays I want to be badass? Or eccentric? What if somedays I want to dress like a contestant from Toddlers & Tiaras? What if somedays I want to dress like I haven't showered for 3 days?
Just kidding....I shower everyday...I smell good, I swear.
So, today I felt like covering my showered, smell good body in basics but spicing it up with pieces like this beautiful Kristin Perry necklace and this statement clutch.
So regardless of my insignificant struggle (a.k.a. white girl problems) to find the one right word to describe my style, I feel lucky that I don't have to be constrained or limited to just one word. Everyone around me might have words to describe how they perceive my style, but I believe your style depends on your mood and your influences and you can describe your style any way you fucking want and you don't even need to use one word if you don't feel like it. In conclusion, though I usually stick to classic pieces, I like to try new things in fashion and if it doesn't work, I'll learn from my mistake. But if I find pieces that look good, it's hard for me not to control my awful spending habits...

Time For Change

images via Google

I'm not sure what it is, maybe the weather, or perhaps my sixth sense, or I might just be really bored; but something is telling me that it's time for a change. So I've decided to once again, redecorate my room. I'm starting by painting my walls white. Right now they're a light lilac color and to be honest, it's getting old. I need something a little more sophisticated....you know...because I'm just SO sophisticated. After my walls are a boring, sophisticated white color, I'm hoping I'll be lucky enough to collect a few vintage pieces that are the right amount of awesome and the right amount of won't-make-me-broke.

Right now a huge inspiration for me are these Moroccan Wedding Blankets. My favorite ones are the ones found in the first and last images. You could call it love at first sight, but ever since I saw these beautiful blankets, I knew I needed one to complete my home one day in the future. Unfortunately, they are definitely not in my price range right now and I really would love to get one when I actually get married. And to make myself sound even more like a douchebag, how amazing would it be to travel to Morocco to get one? I mean how much more authentic can it get than that?

If only I won the lottery.....
(I'd take you all with me too, don't worry)

Speaking of change, are you guys liking the changes I've made to the blog? I changed the bar under the header so it's easier to navigate. And my follow buttons are now to your right. Any suggestions on what else I should do? Let me hear it!

Fully Clothed

Muscle Tee: T by Alexander Wang, Shirt: Zara, Jeans: Current/Elliott, Shoes: Zara, Bag: Zara

photos by Marcus Nilsson

I never thought I would say this, but I actually forgot what it was like to wear jeans. No, not because I've been frolicking around naked but because I have worn shorts, skirts, and dresses all summer and I really don't remember the last time I wore something fully covering my legs. I feel confined but it's a feeling I've missed. It's refreshing in a way, and it's a gentle reminder that cold weather is closer than you think (the best time of the year in my opinion).
So if you're looking to invest in a great pair of jeans, Current/Elliott has always worked for me. And to spice up your casual sweater and jeans look, one that I know I'll be wearing too much of this fall, you can tie a jacket or a shirt around your waist. I also highly recommend listening to Nirvana and dusting off that Tamagotchi. C'mon, who doesn't want to bring back the 90's?

NYFW '13 Part 1

imgs via Grazia.it

Yes, you want to impress people. Yes, you want to be photographed. Yes, you want to feel confident. But these images really show that above all of this, you want to be comfortable and you want to stay true to your style. I love how well everything is put together but it's not too over-the-top.
Which ones are your favorites?
